Do clarinets become sharper over time? Is there anyway to adjust this if it is true?

I have never heard of that happening, players can end up playing sharper over time. I don't know how old this clarinet is. I have a 25 yr old Selmer 10G and 33 yr old Buffet E12 MM, both of wich tune fine (the 10G is dead on most of the time, and the Buffet is a Buffet), and they haven't changed in the time that I have had them.

Your instrument can go out of tune over time.

The bore dimensions over time can change. Backun takes many measurements of the bore and keeps them on record to see just how much it does.

I was just curious. I will be taking my clarinet to the Brannen's for a checkup and will ask them about that. I was in Italy this past summer and it was about 100 degrees everyday and my clarinet was outside in the sun. I wasn't thrilled with those conditions and I am not taking my clarinet outside in heat and sun anymore. I wonder if the heat could have contributed to the pitch changing.

Heat usually causes fluctuations in humidity, depening on where someone is located .

Maybe the bore has lost humidity or gained too much causing the it to change dimensions.
