Has anyone used this machine or heard of it. I've had no luck locating it on the web. I've heard it's like a reedual...but more accurate and uses daimond cutters instead of sandpaper. If anyone knows where to find one and how much then cost...

thanks for the reply, I will try that number. Does anyone on this board have experiece with this machine?
From what I gather(from the limited info I found online), this is accurate to within 0.001 inches, and doesn't have the problems of the reedual(inaccurate rails and tip too thick).
Just wondering why more ppl don't use it....

I chatted with Charlie at the Texas Music Educators Association convention in February and he had a prototype of the new machine with him. I do not know if he has gone into production as yet. It is a motor driven milling machine basically which will copy a given reed profile. I believe that it will not be cheap once it comes out - Expensive= >$500., Reasonable=$250., Cheap= <$100.00 It will be probably in the "Expensive" category from what he was intimating - unless he can have it made in Asia.

As I recall, his catalog priced it closer to $1,000 than $500, but I could be wrong. Charlie is a great player, mouthpiece maker and repairman, but his prices are higher than almost anybody. At least in the past, he has been slow answering queries.
I found an old version of his website on the Internet Archive Wayback Machine, but it was only a placeholder, with a mail and e-mail address to go to for information.
