Most of FOBB (at least the only version I know of) is a series of chromatic patterns.

4 note descending chromatic scale starting on your written E6.
4 note descending chromatic scale starting on your written D6.
8 note descending chromatic scale starting on your written C6.
Repeat the above pattern an octave lower (beginning on E5)
Lather, Rinse, Repeat
...GBK

That's the easy part. But what's the best fingering for the following E,D#,Dnat, C# sequence? ...that's what slows me down.

There are some editions of it which are in keys that are just silly. Flight should above all lay well.

I noticed they didn't answer, so I'll jump in here. People on this BB have been playing anywhere from less than 1 year to more than 50 years.

See the C4 graphic at the top of this page? Everything from that C up to the middle line B is in the 4th octave and is labeled 4 -- first line E is E4, second space A is A4, etc. Each octave is also thusly labeled -- third space C is C5, second ledger line C above staff is C6, second ledger line A below staff is A3, and so on.
So E6 would be the 4th ledger line E above the staff. You should be able to figure out the rest from there. Good luck.

The last time I tried "Flight of the Bumble Bee" it came out as "Blight of the Fumble Bee"
(Apologies to Gerry Mulligan for stealing his song title)

I actually learned my chromatic scale with that piece when I'd been playing for about 3 months.
