Vandoren V12 3.5 worked well for me on the Fobes CF+, also our home-grown variety, Reeds Australia Vintage 3.5.

My clarinet teacher emailed Clark about which mouthpiece for ME to get and he recommended the CF+ because "it accepts the most reeds". It's supposedly reed friendly. My teacher uses an OM* and she likes her because it is extremely reed friendly. You can always get 1-3 from WWBW and try them and if you don't like them you can ship them back (although there is a restocking fee I think). Good luck! If you buy one, report on how it works-I'd like to know. I'll be buying a mp soon.

According to Clark Fobes' website, the CF+ facing has a 1.00 mm tip opening (close) and a 17 mm facing length (which, I think, would be classified as medium length -- though the so-called facing charts are far more inclined to give tip openings than facing lengths for comparison). Given those measurements, I would expect most experienced clarinetists would want a reed whose strength was equivalent to something between a Vandoren V12 3.5 and a regular Vandoren 4 (or slightly stronger). I haven't played any of Clark's professional Bb mouthpieces but I have played a few Debuts -- which, according to Clark's website also have the CF+ facing. My preference with them is a regular Vandoren 3.5.

I have played regular Vandoren 4, Vandoren Rue LePic 4, old purple box Vandoren 5, and Grand Concert Thick Blank 4. All work well on it. Of course, the results are slightly different, depending on shat you are looking for.
I have found that this mouthpiece accepts many reeds very well. Also- This mouthpiece either feels more open than it is, or Clark's gauges measure a bit smaller than some, because it does not feel close as the 100 number might suggest. This mouthpiece gives great control and delicacy, yet great volume when needed. It is free blowing and very comfortable to play in all situations. It is one fabulous mouthpiece. Clark is one of the finest craftsmen out there.

I agree it does not seem as closed as the website suggests. I have just dropped down a reed strength and I wanted to make sure I wasn't just being really lazy with my airstream, support etc.
A moment of paranoia perhaps...
