This is the first and only time I will ever place a ligature question on this board. Sorry about that for this one time only.
Does anyone know where to find a goldplated Bonade inverted ligature? I tried one today and it sure made a difference for me.

Bonade makes a gold lig for Bb clarinet? I thought the only gold ones were for sax.
If so, I want one, but only because it looks cool.

I looked in the Muncy catalog online, which didn't have it. Maybe it's in the printed version. It's probably a custom job, and I remember that it's quite expensive, even though the plating contains only a few cents worth of gold.
Remember that the Bonade ligatures are inconsistent. You should go through a bunch, find one that plays well and have it plated through a jewelry service.
String is free.

Maybe I'll take my Bonade to a jeweler like you suggested. I miss the look of my dead Harrison gold. Heck, maybe they can even fix that.
Can't believe I never thought of that before. Who's the one with the dying brain cells?

Leblanc, which distributes Bonade ligatures, doesn't list gold laquer as an option for clarinet ligatures (only for saxophone ligs).
Gold plating/laquering must be an after market thing. Guy Chadash once offered to plate mine.
I wonder what plating would do to my Luyben ligature?

My Luybens are black and translucent PLASTIC [PE, PP or other]. It might be possible to have them "electroless" plated [as with some cardboard/plastic bottle "sealers"], out of my line of expertise, tho. Don

Hey Don.....I just tried a Luyben for the first time and was WOWED. For an elcheapo lig how can you beat this little devil. It came with a beatup Vito I bought. Now I've ordered 3 new ones. At their regular retail price they are expendable if lost broken or stolen.....STOLEN!!!
Regarding the "gold plated" Bonades....maybe they are actually Alto Sax ligs and maybe they are gold lacquer. And in today's technology they could even be titanium nitride coated.

If only we could gold-plate a plastic Luyben, we'd have the perfect lig, wouldn't we?
Maybe I'll gold plate the exhaust system on my car for a more resonant engine sound, whaddya think, acoustical engineers?

With f[r]iends like Bob D and Dave S, its a great world !!, Yeah, the Luybens are an un-appreciated, great bargain and, diff. from many metal ligs, will fit any size mps, and play well and ?dark?. I could be talked into believing that gold plating [not just gold laquer] might make an audible improvement, certainly a psychological "kick", so why dont you young experts research the h--- out of this. Familiar with the Rico Plasticover reeds, coated with black rubber? How about "Goldcover" gold-plated reeds? Never need wetting, and they've just GOT to sound better, being gold-plated! Actually, on second thought, they might make you sound like a harmonica or accordion............

Back to Bonade ligs, we did get off into the wild blu, an older catalog made ref to gold and silver plated ones. Rummaging[sp?] thru my M 6 alto sax case, I found a silver-colored Santy Runyon [looks like a 7] mp [?WOW?], no lig tho, the only lig that seems to fit is for my Eb cl. Any suggestions? Don
