I bought a new R-13 Bb clarinet last week and played it for a concert, lessons, and jury. Seems very fine and will ask my repairman for overhaul. Also, matches very well with my RC A clarinet.
Nice intonation (still needs to be improved) and eveness and focus of the sound. I am really happy with it!!

Congratulations! I'm glad that somebody has had luck with the R13's. I haven't, but oh well! Hope your jury went well!

Carrie, thanks for a nice comment.
Tyler, I was more interested in differences on individual instrument rather than which model I use. After trying several R-13s, I found the one which feels similar to my RC A clarinet.
In terms of projection, I think my new R-13 Bb and RC A are similar. I have no problem switching between the two clarinets.

Also, I realized why I really have to choose the R-13 from bunch of them. Bad one was just unplayable.

Ok, thanks RosewoodClarinet! I had read about the fact that there is a difference in bell shape between R13's and RC's, and I wondered if it affected projection greatly. Apparently not. And like you said, individual horns are always different in those aspects.
Thanks again,
-Tyler

Also, I find bells to work the best for each clarinets acoustic-wise, intonation-wise, and feeling-wise.
Recently, I bought Backun Rosewood bell, I am trying.......
I have selection of bells anyway.

I have a relatively new R-13 as well (nickel keys, too), and have just had to have several pads replaced and the spring-action on one key adjusted. Otherwise, it's a sensational instrument and really quite "sweet" for a new one.
Congrats!
