Hi, any one can tell me where i can get the info or definitions for all the possibilities of a Boehm Clarinet.
I was reeding in selmer paris that they develop their clarinets with this types of keyboards:

°1 System Boehm, 17 keys, 6 finger rings
N°1B System Boehm standard, with standard Eb lever (left hand)
N°1RF System Boehm standard, with F key booster
N°1BRF System Boehm standard, with F key booster and Eb lever (left hand)

Where can i get the standard for this....

Thanks in advance.

The F boosters are found on the Tosca, right?

All I know is the full boehm and reformed boehm. And in between you get an extra alternate Eb lever (which I assume is one of the above).

Then you could always go into the mazzeo and McIntyre. Lol.

We have discussed the more common Boehms, in threads prob. titled as Full Boehm, the "standard" 17/6 [keys/rings], [several]18/6 or 18/7's. 19/7 and 20/7. C G mentioned the [several] Mazzeo's, and McIntyre, and I'll add Stubbins model, which had some popularity some time ago. There are many more "inventive/patented" keying variants [US Pat class 84. subclass 380 +] which apparently had no commercialization that I have found. I've tried to find some of these, perhaps they are only museum "oddities", some of these being [Only] models, dating back to when a "working model" was required for patentability !! I believe the patent office has some rooms full of these !!, and stopped requiring this !!!. And then there are the extended-range soprano, alto, bass and contras, some called Bassets, others just E R's. A number of our cl "good books" have pics and some discussions of the pros and cons. Ah, yes, CG mentioned Reform B's, there was a Double B also, prob. even more !! "Nuff for now ? Don

Thanx, Mark, Don

excluding Mazzeo and McIntyre, as DB says, you can find pictures of all Boehm combinations in Patricola clarinets, the standard 17/6 with or without Eb lever, the full Boehm 20/7 and the combination in between.

javier g. m.:

Do you have another URL for Patricola? The one you gave takes me to a single page with no further links to detailed pictures.

Thanks

http://www.patricola.com/ brings you to the same place. Make sure JavaScript is enabled or you'll never see their menus.

Ah ha - turns out that Patricola is one of those very rare sites that neither Mozilla Firefox (on a PC) nor Safari (on my wife's iMac) can display properly.

Internet Explorer (on a PC) did just fine.

Thanks

JDS
