i was using a stock metal ligature before, and i bought a plastic ligature (don't remember the brand) instead of rovner because i was low on money.
i lost the new ligature today (i think a kid took it but it's not a big deal. hehe) i also messed up my vandoren v12 2.5 reed (the only vandoren i had and i really liked that one) by my partial fault.
anyway, so i was thinking and thought about legere reeds. i'd like to try them out to see how they're like. but i'm wondering how the ligature would affect synthetic reeds. i heard a couple of days ago here that the more fabric covers the reed, the deeper the tone.
now, from what i heard, legere reeds are very bright. so if i use rovner, would i get some darker tones? what would you do? just try out legere or buy rovner also?
it sounds sort of pointless and dumb to ask this, but please reply kindly.
thanks
p.s.: http://www.music123.com/Legere-Bb-Clarinet-Reed-i78776.music?t=4 i'm looking at that site and it says quantity of 1. does that mean i only get one reed for 14 bucks? sheesh...
p.p.s: i heard legere reeds are about .25 lower than v12. so since i used v12 2.5, should i get legere 2.75? some people say that they're about the same, so should i just get 2.5? i also heard that legere softens up a bit after playing...

Suggest you use the search facility on "Legere" for a mass of info specific to your question.
