 Brymer's Mozart Trio
Author: theclarinetist

Hey. I just got a recording of Jack Brymer playing the Mozart Trio (a Phillips "Mozart Complete Piano Trios" CD), and it is wonderful. The playing is delicate and really beautiful, both from the solo clarinet and from an ensemble standpoint. As of now, it's my new favorite recording of the piece. I recommend to anyone who hasn't heard Brymer's playing to check it out! Any other thoughts on his performance of this piece (if you know it), or just his playing in general. I don't know much about him... Any info would be great...

Certainly worth listening to for Stephen Kovacevich's pianism. I don't rate Ireland's viola. Brymer sounds charming in places, but gets very rough towards the end. But there is little depth to what he does in my view.
