Some time ago someone posted a web site of a lady in England who puts on concerts of her singing and they are outrageously bad. Can anyone remember the site and/or her name?

Florence Foster Jenkins might be she ... though I think she was mainly recorded in the USA.

diz: Thanks, that is the site I was looking for. There is a guy in my office that keeps saying. "Let's really make this department sing!". Sometime I will pick the right time to show him what he might be asking for.

I'm not sure about Florence's recordings but there was a CD produced called

the Unbelievable Glory of the Human Voice

recorded in the wonderful Cargenie hall. the pianist on this recoring is (was) a trooper - how he/she kept a straight face and played on without falling off his/her piano stool still remains a mystery

It might also be Anna Russell, although her "The Anna Russell Album" is (I think) intended as comedy.

Often the associated listings give an indication of the quality bracket something falls into (much like you can get an idea of a person's values/lifestyle/etc. by looking at who his/her friends are: 'tell me who your friends are, and I'll tell you who you are yourself').

In this case, the related item:-

Mary Schneider Yodelling the Classics from Koch Int'l Classics

 speaks volumes.

 Cheers
 Bart

I bought this CD on recommendation and after listening to it was sore for a week from laughing so hard. Her rendition of the Mozart is so horrific she sounds like a barking Chihuahua. v/r Ken
