 I've already started (sort of), in the process of building a low-C extension for my bass clarinet made out of part of a plastic Normandy bass clarinet bottom end, a bunch of saxophone key parts, and not nearly enough free time to finish the job....

 I am game but the articale stopped short of providing a "recipe card" 
I got a bunch of pipe and access to a lot of scape. (the company that i work for builds condos and hotels)

 Thanks for the link, Ken.  Interesting stuff. 
 
Curious:  when he calls 60 Hz Bb, wonder what pitch and temperament he means?  In even temper A=440, it's almost 50 cents sharp. 
 
Making an instrument similar to a Clarinet has interested me for a long time, but I'm too busy on the computer (???).

 Not to be technical, but isn't it just a crude (bass) clarinet, defining a clarinet as a cylindrical single-reed wind instrument? I wish they had a picture.
