(When the time signature is in 4/4)

 A whole note=4 counts
 A half note=2 counts
 A quarter note=1 count
 An eighth note=1/2 count
 A sixteenth note=1/4 count

These can vary when the time signature becomes a cut time or 6/8th time. Is this what you need?

 in time 4/4:

The big white ball without the line = 4, the little white ball = 2 (with a little point after the note = 3), the little black ball = 1 (with the point = 1+half movement), the little black ball with a sign on the vertical line = half movement, with 2 signs: a quarter of movement ecc...

are you taking lessons? its all memorization, and practice, so get different types of music, and play your lungs out. practice practice practice. lessons are also a great way to improve for everyone, from beginners to pros.
