If memory serves, this book is something like 75% clarinet and 25% bass clarinet. I don't recall it having been all that hard if you're accustomed to the kind of writing seen in pit parts, but a less-experienced player would be challenged. I do recall a difficult solo passage for bass clarinet in the song "Oliver!".

I played that book two years ago. All I recall from it is that bass clarinet solo davyd mentioned. It doesn't look difficult, but it does get difficult the more you think about what you're doing! It's kinda chromatic with a lot of pinky-key switching back and forth. The first time I played it, it was perfect, but then from then on I let it get difficult in my mind. So be sure to practice it until you're absolutely sure you can get it right all the time (which is something that didn't happen to me during the show's run!).
I also remember one stretch where, due to segues, the orchestra plays for 10 minutes without a break--including Reed 3, non-stop. (I know, I timed it.)
Other than these things, it wasn't terribly difficult. Some great, fun, music. I hope you have a good French horn player--there's an absolutely heart-tugging line in the song "As Long as He Needs Me."

We did it this year and there were a few moments on bass clarinet where my instrument just couldn't play some of the switches to upper register. It was the horn because I could play it on the clarinet which was what I ended up doing. There are also a few very quick switches. The bass clar. part is solo on occasion , especially when the character Mr.Bumble is on stage. I really enjoyed playing the show, though the "Oompa" song gets a little tedious. All in all a lot of fun. Enjoy.

When I did that back in 2002 both the reed 3 player and me (on reed 2) shared that triplety 'Oliver' tune between us - he played the 1st note of the triplet groups on bass clarinet and I played the 2nd (and 3rd) notes of it on cor.
Only problem with playing the reed 2 part is a lot of the oboe solos are also on the piano part which is annoying as they hog your solo and play it straight when you want to have more freedom with it.
