I have looked through it a few times, but never felt the need to buy it. The etudes are interesting and challenging (this is NOT a book for someone who is still struggling with basic fingering and tone production issues on any of the instruments). But I'm not sure why a serious doubler would buy this book instead of getting some of the tried-and-true etude books that flutists, clarinetists, and saxophonists use. Many of these are quite inexpensive and readily available.
I guess I'm always suspicious of anything "for doublers"--I would rather study flute like a flutist than study flute like a saxophonist.

I think the point with Vadala's book is the short amount of time given to change horns AND concepts.
You can't get that just from regular etude books.
I was playing a show book today, and I had to go from big band lead alto to legit flute, to a notated Dixie clarinet solo to picc in two pages.

I bought the book because I love to double. I played out of it maybe twice. I found it too overwhelming--the parts were too hard and weren't much fun to play.
So I just went back to playing my etude and legit/jazz method books for sax, clarinet and flute, and have been fine ever since.
