I use cane gouged and shaped from Jeanne, Inc. and I ask Valerie to shape it at the top of the ears (otherwise I am just too darn sharp!). I play a Loree ser # LM--, I use the Loree bocals, sometime I use the one from Dallas Bocal Co. (Steve Lickman, formerly of DSO).
Gouge (own gouge or store bought?): Jeanne
Thickness: ?
Shape: Valerie's shape - I guess Jeanne
Length tied at: 51 - 52 mm
Length ended at: 48.5 - 50 mm
Length from bottom of Staple to beginning of scrape: 30mm (on today's reed)
Tip length: around 4 mm from the sides of the tip up
I don't remember what staples I am using since I have had them for a while. Hmmm, they might Loree or Glotin. I tried Chudnow gold plated (which I love for the EH but hated for od'a) so I know it is not that.
This reed has no wire on it. I will begin the reed without and put one on only if needed.
Crow: Eb
Hope this helps :-)
