Thank you very much.. Ah.. defintion of proficient. I'm in tune for the majority of the time (except on those middle of the staff Bs and Cs! I'm assuming that's the throat register for oboe.. kinda like the G, A, Bb on clarinet.) Oh, and I can play my scales. Yay. Recent accomplishment.
As to the vibrato thing, yes, something like that. I think I stated earlier that I'm also a chorus student; I sing through the oboe while playing. I'm really not exactly sure what I'm doing either. What you said sounds kind of like it though.
I'll check out those books! Sorry it took so long for me to get back; I have rehersals every night except Friday now! It's fun, but a little more than taxing.
