Chiasserini also made fake Loree English horns, also Malerne.
The stamps on the fake Loree English horns appear to be almost as good as on the real instruments, except that the letters/numbers in the serial number stamping will almost always be crooked, jumbled, not in a straight line.
The most obvious clues on the fake Loree English horn is the extra bend ("step") in the left hand F lever, and the fact that [often] the bell will simply look odd, skinny where it should be wide at the middle. The good news is that often a fake Loree
English horns (Malerne) will often play beautifully. This can not be said
however about the fake Loree oboes. In my experience, the majority of Malerne oboes should be candidates for use as wall decorations...
