Gary Armstrong is totally competent, knowledgeable & rock solid. He has given lectures to IDRS attendees on oboe maintenance, which always get full marks. Definitely one of the good guys. As an aside, his shop sells a nifty sturdy all-wooden oboe peg with a leather insert on the base, which meets the periphery of the bell. I doubt that there is a better one on the market.
