Hi there,
Why, I love it! When I got my new professional Oboe a year ago, I used it instead of forked F straight away! I find that it is better in tune compared to the Forked F, as it uses mechanisms for the normal F fingering. I also find it more comfortable, and better for my hand position, and this can also help to create smooth intervals between notes...which can be very hard in some circumstances.
There are some downsides too, such as when you can't use it!
Other than that...it takes some time to get used to, but it is surely worth the while and the wait!
I've fallen in love with it...
Kind Regards,
Melli
