I don't think oiling the bore is rocket science. If you're worried about oil on the pads, put tin foil under all of the pads and close the keys with rubber bands. I do this when I feather in Thompson's Water Seal to seal up my oboe so I don't have water problems. Essentially makes sure water doesn't seep into the wood and warp it as oiling the bore does.
