So, I attempted to buy some accessories for a reduced price at Musiloom.com. Honestly, I'm embarrassed that I even thought this site was legit and tried to buy something from them -- the signs were all there that this was a scam, but I ignored them. Working past my own embarrassment, I wanted to warn others.
I found the site when I was googling for a particular set of accessories. Finding them there, I explored the site a little and it seemed to be legit and the price very attractive. If only I had looked a bit farther...
Anyway, I put the items into my cart, approved the total (in $US), and then paid through Pay Pal (because that's safer, right?).....when the amount was transferred to PayPal, it became JYN (yen) with a very unfavorable exchange rate that I didn't catch until after I had approved it. My US$130 suddenly became a charge of over US$1,000!! Of course, I reached out to the seller immediately and asked that the rate be adjusted or the order canceled. It was canceled, and I was refunded about US$50.
Of course, I'm now fighting this with PayPal and my credit card company to get the rest of the money refunded. I'm just hoping to save others some misery.
