I'm an amateur and was contacted recently to play with a local orchestra to help them out in a concert. There was a reheasal lasting 5 hours before the concert. The concert went well apart from one thing. There was no thanks from the orchestra manager or conductor for all those volunteers who gave up their time to help with which for the organisers was a very successful concert.

I feel like an oboe rather than a person. It seems as long as each section was filled they didn't really care about who the player was. I was wondering if any others have had similar experiences. Its really put me off offering my services in the future.
