 Reed Tip adjusting Tool
Author: Clarence
Date:   2003-12-29 02:19

While experimenting with reed perimenters, I noticed that I could apply pressure to both sides of the reed at the base just above the thread at the seams and cause the reed tip to open.

The amount of air pressure needed to make sounds and the range of the reed seemed greater. It would be nice to have a collar with a screw adjustment that could be adjusted as needed as you play.

The tuning also was affected and a reed that was too soft was not helped.

What do you think ? Has anyone seen such a tool ?
