As of late , as in the last few months I've been noticing a problem with my a phearing. As I"m playing the Oboe , and even the Clarinet . there is this effect with what seems a certain frequency. This happens when I play an E natural (mostly) and the note seems to be right inside my head as if there is a vibration setting up within the inner ear. It's as if there is fluid in the inner ear that is affected by this frequency. Its mostly the E natural in the top space of the stave , but sometimes also the Eb as well to a certain extent. I'm going to get an appointment to have my ears checked and to see if there is excessive fluid in the ears or whatever. I'm just posting this to find out if anyone out there has experienced a similar problem with certain notes. Meanwhile , I"m also going to get a set of those 'musician ' ear plugs from "Hi Fi' to see if that helps out with the problem. I'm 72 years old now , so I guess one has to expect little problems like this now.
I've also been reading up about the Eusachian Tubes and how to release pressure within them by blocking your nose and blowing but this doesn't seem to help the problem.
