As I mentioned in a previous thread, I was having problems with the Eb/D# (top space) not having a secure feeling when tongued. I've now found that I can use the fingering (Oct Key/TP /123Eb/456) with no problems in response or tuning. It has practically an identical sound as the correct fingering (no TP / half hole / 23Eb/456) And besides this , the incorrect fingering must be used anyway on my S2 Thumb Plate Oboe for trilling Eb/F (trilling with 5th finger) This Oboe has no LH F key . However, you certainly can't use the TP & Oct key on D and Db/C# and must half hole the 1st finger which is of course the correct fingerings for these notes.
