As a child, I used to play the trumpet, from the age of 4 till I was 17. I had a reasonably good level, but lost interest.
I switched to oboe when I was 18, and haven't played the trumpet since. Because I didn't feel the urge to play the trumpet, and because I thought these two instruments are incompatible.
Now, through an inheritance, I recently got a gorgeous Bach C-trumpet, and I couldn't resist trying it. To my surprise, it sounded really good (I wasn't surprised about the instrument, but me playing it...), and it kinda makes me wanna pick up the trumpet again.
So the question is: is it possible to combine oboe (and CA) and trumpet (at amateur level)? I am mainly worried about embouchure
