I have recently bought a 2nd hand cor Anglais. it is a Louis and is Thumbplate with 123 Conservatoire, some plateau keys and some open ring and a solid plate on the first tone hole instead of the split plate most instruments have. The instrument is a joy to play until I get to the third octave. Many notes on the standard semi automatic do not work , as if you need the first octave key, because of the the nature of the automatic system, the 2nd octave key opens instead. This is problematic for the short E fingering, F and F# - My finguring for top G is beautiful anc clear. If anyone can give me some advice on those fingerings here, I would be most grateful.
Thanks
Geoff Pearce
