 Hello all!

I am gearing up for a little musical tour of China this spring. This will be my first time traveling overseas with a cocobolo oboe. I've heard horror stories about crossing international borders with instruments made of "rare woods." You all are my first step in researching these questions:

Do I need to fear incarceration and/or confiscation of my instrument by customs agents?

Is there some sort of document I should take with me (perhaps proving its approximate date of harvest, for example), and how would I obtain such a document?

Is there anything else I would need to do in advance that may not have occurred to me?

 Thank you!

 JM
