OK, so I buy my reeds. If you knew how old I am, and how recently I became an oboist, you would understand.
I've had a few weeks' hiatus from my various groups, and took the opportunity (with newfound insight) to go back through my bone pile of reeds that didn't make the cut initially.
Found one that is just wonderful. In tune, adjusted easily to my playing preference, and sounds glorious. But I couldn't figure out where I got it.
(For the record, I write in ink, on the staple of every reed I buy, the initials of the maker, and the number -- 1, 2, 3, etc. -- of the reed in the order.)
This one looked like it said, "LW - 2". But for the life of me, I could not find a reedmaker I had bought from with the initials LW.
Closer look (without various sorts of glasses). It's "CW". The top part of the C had mostly washed out.
COOPER WRIGHT!! You win! My new go-to reed!
