Hey guys,
Long time, no.. post.
Anyway, finally found this forum again. I have a question. On my lower notes something is mis-adjusted, and has been the entire time I've had it, no matter who I bring it to. But I have never just had the bottom pads replaced and keys adjusted because I haven't had the money to do it. At least I don't think I have.
When I play low notes - starting with the F above middle C and going all the way down to Bb - there's a gurgling sound that would make someone think there was water in a pad down there, which there isn't - I've checked time and time again. When I used to play on this oboe, I had somehow found a way to get by it, but it required hard-pressing of the keys and the forming of bad habits to fit the oboe's problem.
First, if any of you have had this problem and know the solution, PLEASE don't hesitate to tell me.
Secondly, if someone knows how much it costs to have the bottom tenon joint completely repadded and adjusted, please tell me that as well.
I still play oboe, just not this one. I'm teaching my younger brother how to play, but with his small hands I would much rather have a nice beginnger oboe than this intermediate model until he gets used to playing it, in general.
Thank you very much, please respond ASAP.
Corinne
