Hello I am in urgent need of a B flat basset clarinet or a lower B flat basset joint to fit a standard Buffet B flat clarinet.
Thank you for any help you may be able to give me.
Very best wishes
Marc

Hello hoobdeebla
Thank you for the details of the basset clarinet. I have investigated it and have found it not to be the instrument for me.
Many thanks for your help, and should you find another B flat basset clarinet, totally wooden, I would be grateful if you could pass the details on to me.
Thank you

Hi ebonite
Thank you for the lead. Unfortunately I have already been advised by Clarinets Direct the the set of Basset Clarinets were sold four years ago and that this ad is from the old website.
Thank you for your thoughts, I am very grateful.
Very best wishes,
March

Obviously you are in a rush. The Stephen fox Bb basset conversion is IMO exceptional. It will not likely happen quickly though. Feel free to contact me should you wish to talk about key lay out etc.
Cheers Glen

Hi Glen
Thank you for your input. I also think that Steve Fox’s conversion is the way to go and I have a clarinet ready for him to convert. He is very difficult to contact though and have found the best method of contacting him is by Facebook. I am not in too much of a rush but I do want it to happen before too much longer!
I understand that he is having some form of surgery soon also. I have discussed the key layout and I said I would like it to be the same as my Uebel boehm system basset horn. Little rh finger for low Eb and then three thumb keys for the other low notes. Also left hand Ab/Eb. I like Steve’s layout that has the rubber ball between the low D & C. I assume this is for Db. I can’t decide whether to have this layout or another type. I have a Leblanc A basset which I am not that happy with for key layout but it works well. I am thinking that a similar layout to the basset horn would be good for times when I want or need to use them together (I.e. La Clemenza di Tito, recitals etc).
