Hello people,
I would like some advice on finding a composition(s) for clarinet and piano in klezmer style. I think it would be nice to have a few pieces like this up my sleeve to showcase the clarinets versatile style and such, as part of a recital.
Much appreciated
Stu

There is a tune, a Dave Tarras tune I believe, called F Major Bulgar, that is played fantastically as a piano duo by Margo Leverett on her Klezmer Mountain Boys CD. Don't have any idea if there is a score available for this, though.

Years ago, I played one called "Chassidic Dance", written, I belive, by Abraham Ellstein. I don't know the publisher.

There is some stuff arranged out, but most of the material available is in the form of "lead sheets" - just the melody and chord names.
Try:
"The Compleat Klezmer", by Henry Sapoznik, Tara Publications (Cedarhurst, NY: 1987) - get the CD with it.

There are a few clarinet/piano pieces listed in the Luyben Catalog. I haven't seen any these but would be interested in comments from those who have.
Check the link below.
