 D fingerings ?
Author: yosl

Hello to all,
I have a book with klezmer leadsheets and in the introduction there is talk of "this piece was played on a Bb clarinet with D fingerings or on a C clarinet with E fingerings etc.,)
Can anyone explain what this means.
Thanks

I'm just guessing, but from the example you cite it sounds like they're explaining transposition, except that it would be the other way around: i.e, the Bb would use E fingerings and the C would use D fingerings. Are you sure?
