Greetings, everybody!
Has anybody possibly had some experience with digital metronomes that can be set for such rhythms as 7/8, 9/8 and so on? I'd appreciate any comments and recommendations. It can be quite difficult to judge from commercial descriptions exactly what some metronomes are capable of in this area, and it would be great to hear from anybody who has tried them and would like to pass on some advice.
THANKS!!

Hi, Katrina and ginny!
Thanks for that. Yes, Weird Metronome is great! I've just downloaded it and had some fun with it. Just what I was looking for, since the bloke who put it together (David) says that he wanted something to help him with playing Bulgarian tunes on the gajda, and it's exactly those 11/16, 13/16, 15/16 things that I wanted assistance with, along with some curlier 7/8 and 9/8 passages. It's also handy for settling disagreements (they do occur from time to time!) with other musicians when there's no drummer to keep us in line.
It would be very useful to have something more mobile, though. Is there any commercially available metronome device that does the same stuff and can be easily slipped into the gig bag?

If you have a Palm or PocketPC (didn't check for cellular phones with java), there are some metronomes out there for these devices.

I don't have a portable metronome myself. Not all of the "Dr. Beat" type metronomes have that capacity, but I think the expensive ones do. When I think of spending that sort of money on one, I just use weird metronome.
