thanks for the input... I have now played on it for a few more days, and have tried the 'pro' 2.25 reed too. Surprisingly, the pro seems brighter... but not sure if I like it better or not.

I like the reed...not sure I *love* the sound, but it is still real good, and alot better than a cane that wont play at all!

So I guess the thing I like the most is just the simplicity factor, which is huge to me...I also play violin, and many times I would sit to play the cl. and a reed that just recently seemed fine, for some reason wont make a sound...I get mad, and put up the cl. and get out my violin...haha...now no excuse not to practice the clarinet!

Do the guys using the really soft reeds all use super open mp's? It seems hard to imagine you could play the high notes otherwise...
