Yes, fingerings translate to the flute. Such as the b,a,g go to flute, piccalo and alto saxaphone. I first played the piano, then went to recorder, flute, now alto saxaphone, and will start the piccalo soon. Hope that helps. Bye!

I have taught recorder for many years at the Dept. of Music, University of Ottawa.
I recommend Moeck alto recorders for professional study.
And for solo professional work I recommend the best privately made instruments: Friedrich von Huene in Boston,
Also, Jean-Luc Boudreau, Montreal, Canada.
Fingerings can be found in any good recorder method: I suggest "The Recorder Player's Handbook" (Schott, Mainz Ed 12322. Avilable from Courtly Music Unlimited, 2067 Broadway, Suite 27, New York, NY 10023, Tel. 212-580-7234. It is in English and covers excellent breathing descriptions, many hints on improved fingerings for difficult musical passages and historical and modern fingering charts.) Happy recorder playing, yours sincerely, Gerald Corey, Ottawa (jerrylv@magi.com)
