 Feste Romane

Oboists,
For the All-State Orchestra, a required try-out piece is a selection from Feste Romane. In one of the passages, there is a Ab (octave Ab on the line) and it slurs down to a Low Bb. (Line below the staff). It's Half Note-Eighth Note. (Ab-Bb). How do you get down to that in time? My fingers keep slipping trying to hit the Bb and I don't know any easier way. I tried using right-handed Ab (with the side of the Index Finger), but it still comes out sluggish. What do I do?

:S you could try using the side Ab key...but, um...sliding is probably your only option
