Hello i am new to this bbs. I play the clarinet in marching band, i am very good a it, but what i really want is to learn to play the alto sax for my schools jazz band. Anyone know where i can get a free fingering chart?

Krista, the fingering for F is given on the Saxophone Fingering Chart, which you will get to by clicking on Fingering Charts at the top of the page.
E# is the same note as F, so it uses the same fingering.

Umm, I have no idea, but I do play the sax, and if you ever need help with it (i'm also in the marching band), just email me at diablo87@midsouth.rr.com, if I can't answer the questions, I can just ask my band director...he plays both

Sax fingering is almost identical to the upper register on the clarinet for the six pads and pinky levers, except for Bb. You'll have no problem with the alto. Its just the upper register above high C that are different. Sax has a true octave key as opposed to the register key on a clarinet, which makes it easier for beginners, and easy for clarinet players to pick up.
