 Octave problem (Flute)
Author: Musical Mind

I still can't fix this problem. After I practice a while and then play from an octave to the another octave, it sounds a little bit stuffy. They don't quite sound the clearest as well as when I started practicing the flute. Is this because my lips got tired and need to rest? Or, am I missing something that I am supposed to know? I know that the higher octaves require a small (not too tiny) embouchure and the lower octaves require a wide embouchure. Please give me some suggestions. Thank you.

Well how long have you practice when you have this problem? I might be too that your lips can be tired. Maybe try resting and see if that helps at all.

Well, nearly two hours after. I guess that's too much. I should make a one hour practice sessions each day. I did that yesterday and it really helped. And I learned something. I remember reading from some article that higher octaves require more air pressure, not really more air. Is that true? I know how to do that, but now I have a little bit trouble on how to lower the air pressure in the lower octaves.

if you have a problem getting to the top octaves stick your jaw forward while going up you shoulf also do this while going down cos it helps the tuning
and an hour i'm grade eight and i anly do 30-45 min ond i don't practice everyday if i practice too often i find i get bored of the instarment and it comes across in my playing
