If I get an all metal piccolo also known as a Marching piccolo, would it sound out of place if I also played it in orchestra, or would it be too bright and sound out of place, or will it work just fine. I know the marching piccolos are more piercing, but will it still work though? thanks guys!

i'm not a piccolo expert, but i have a friend who'se been palying for like 7 years. It probably doesn't matter if it's all metal, all plastic, or plastic/metal. I think it might be the bore shape? I've heard all 3 kinds*out of 5 flutes, 4 had piccs plast year in out top band and there were 2 metal, one plastic, and a plastic/metal*. But i play everyhting except picc/flute.

Eh... It's iffy, and really depends on how much control you can get over the piccolo. If your going to play it in marching band and orchestra, I would go with a plastic one, just to be safe. They can still be heard in a marching band, and might fit in a little better with an orchestra.
