On Friday I played oboe in an orchestra, and we played the new world symphony, #9, by Dvorak. I then went out and got a CD with some of his stuff on it, because I never listened to anything by him before, and its really good! Just thought id share in case anyone is looking for a good CD.

You should check out some of his tone poems like the Water Goblin or the Golden Spinning Wheel, and I believe he also wrote of Romance for Violin and Orchestra that is really beautiful, though I may have my composers mixed up. It may have been called Fantasy, not Romance as well.
It's good that you played the actual orchestra version and not the band transcription. The band transcription is in the wrong key! It suddenly becomes "The New World Symphony in D Minor."
