I've been having a little problem with my tenor sax Java mouthpiece...I know it's shaped differently to give it a more jazzy sound, but I find it hard to get onto the neck of my sax (the cork is becoming compressed because it won't fit inside the mouthpiece as well as my regular mouthpiece does. I also find it's difficult to tune with my new mouthpiece...I think this is either because of the different tone/timbre the mouthpiece produces, or that I can't get the mouthpiece on far enough because of how small the opening of the bottom of the mouthpiece is, thus making my sax sound very flat....anybody have any suggestions???

I think the tuning problem is probably because you don't have the mouthpiece far enough onto the cork. I found the same when I got a new mouthpiece for my alto. I think you'll just have to push the mouthpiece on. If it really won't fit, bring it to a repair tech who will be able to sand down the cork.
