I have a soprano saxophone and we (me and my band director) cant figure out what key it is in, its not in tune with the tenors, or the altos, and its not in tune with the C on the piano, im not exactly sure if there are any other keys that it could be in, someone please help!!

When you play a C, what note comes out? Compare the note you are playing with a piano. That's the key the sax is in.

You may have a mezzo-soprano? afaik there are 3 different pitched sop saxs, Bb, C and F. i've noticed my m/p is almost all the way down the cork. also you my want to try a electronic tuner and fiddle around with the different pitch buttons. and make sure your playing the right tuning note too.

Is it just out of tune on the same pitch as other saxes, or playing a completely different note? You could be hitting a harmonic, but I don't think you would be.
