I am a high school student and I play the clarinet. I want to learn how to play the oboe. If anyone can help me find an easy to understand fingering chart. Please e-mail me. Thanks.

Well, I would say the easiest fingeing chart to understand would be the Melbank oboe fingering chart. That is the most comprehensive. But for the most part with the exception of B flat,C, F, and F sharp, the fingerings are the same as the upper register of the clarinet. The notes are the same when you switch octaves. F sharp is the F fingering on Clarinet, B flat, is finger A on a clarinet, and hit the f sharp key(the f key on a clarinet), C is you finger B, and hit the F sharp key and when you are playing Middle D which is the same as Middle D on a Clarinet, be sure to move your finger down so that the hole is un covered. Do that when playing middle C# D and E flat. But the fignerings are by far not the hardest thing about oboe. It is not getting your brains scrambled when you play. I am also a high school student. If you ahve any questions please e-mail me

If your just learning to play the oboe, i wish you luck. I played because I was getting tired of the flute and it was really hard. I really started to appriciate how well I could play the flute and now I'm back to it. Even though I didn't learn to play the oboe in the end it really helped me!! Good Luck!!
