 RE: alto sax fingering troubles....

For what it's worth, I am also teaching myself and found a great little book designed for beginning student musicians. I picked it up a local store that specializes in student music and accessories. It is "Accent on Achievement, Book 1 for Eb Alto Saxophone" from Alfred Publishing. All the fingering charts with alternates, etc. Good practice pieces for developing tone. Having played many different instruments, I have learned - the hard way - to start at the bottom. Good luck. It's fun. Work hard, play hard, nothing else matters!
