If you're in Britain then John Packers or Brittania are the best, i don't know if they deliver abroad.

Basically the best ones are handmade by professionals, then next in line is "small mass" production by these professionals for public distribution. These are about the only ones that will really do you any good. Most mass produced reeds aren't of very good quality, so it isn't really worth buying those.

I'm curious. What do you your reeds look like in Malaysia? And Britain too for that matter?

Not sure if they're hand made or not, because my teacher sometimes gives me some and I buy them directly from proffesional reed makers. However, I know for sure that Forrests just makes one of the better store bought reeds out there.

they do not differ too much from reeds abroad i propose.
there are professionals who make reeds for small distribution for the public here in malaysia but thats WEST malaysia which is one sea apart....haha.....so until the end of the year when i get to tour to west malaysia only can i get the reed from one of the professionals....
i've done some research on the net and it seems that there a lot of suppliers which provide hand made reeds but i still can't find a really decent site that i can rely on and supports international delivery WITH SECURE ONLINE INCRYPTION ORDERING.....so pls help me! i need a good reed for the band's concert on august, although that sounds far but i will surely want to test the new reed first and get myself easy with the hardness of the reed. maybe someone here can make a reed for me?

I'm looking for good reeds, too. I'm looking for professional level reeds. I bought some from Charles Double Reed Company and they aren't exactly what I'm looking for. They are breaking in, but I don't know... Maybe my expectations aren't realistic. I'm used to buying reeds from oboe players, but I don't really have any around at the moment. Where would you suggest? Other sources?

I noticed that d-oboe and TorusTubarius didn't give sources — is that not something you do here?

Woodwind and Brasswind (www.wwbw.com) has a pretty good selection of reeds, and as far as I know, they ship internationally.
