Help!!! I'm in the highschool play's pit for "Bye Bye Birdie" and we are lacking a bass clarinet player. I have the music for bass clarinet and bari sax and am wondering how to transpose from the clarinet to the bari so I can play the bass clarinet music for the play. I've been fiddling around with differently pitched instruments and I've been comparing notes to normal B-flat clarinets when they play their pitches, but I'm not sure if I'm correct about my judgment. I have no experience whatsoever in theory, so that probably plays a major role in my ill-knowledge, but is there any simple formula for transposing the notes? Thanks for the help : )

Take all the notes on the Bass Clarinet part and move them up a fifth. Do the same thing with the key signature.
