Hello, I have a selmer paris series II alto saxophone and wish to play the Creston Sonata. There is a high G above the staff about 5 measure after measure 100 and I want to impress my sax teacher. The altissimo fingering he gave me has not worked but I know there are several fingerings for each note. If any other experienced alto players has any fingerings and aumbascher advice I would greatly appreciate it. If you would, pleas email me at Kreillian@msn.com

I used to own that exact model saxophone, and I usually could get the high G to speak by fingering
1-3|1-3 and the octave key, and adjusting the embouchure a little bit by opening my mouth up just a tad. Try that and see if it works.

A good fingering that works for me is:
f_3-|1Bb--
f as in the front f and the Bb as in the right hand Bb key
Also u might try to put your bottom lip farther down the reed but just a little and as tight as possible embouchere but not to hard. Also What works for me is that i hiss like a cat and thats how sax players really play altissimo, they his with your throat. This is kind of hard so hiss like a cat for several minutes befroe trying.
