Ok, I've been asking around, and no one seems to know. I'm a high school student and play the contra. We have the extra key at the bottom, and often have notes that involve it, but have no way of knowing the fingerings of these notes. If anyone knows the fingerings for the contra. PLEASE tell me!!
Thanks bunches!!

The extra key you speak of, played by the little finger of the right hand, maybe be the low Eb key. The bass clarinet also has this key. Check out the Bass Clarinet fingering chart on this site.

I play contra as well but just started, i believe that the bottom key you are talking about is the low Eb key and supposidly you are supposed to be able to play the note using just the right pinkey finger but if i am wrong please let me know because i have transfered from Bb and need all the tips i can get!!

That is very easy. I have that extra key and sometimes it can be a real pain in the butt. I cannot remember the fingerings off the top of my head but email me and on Monday I will check the fingerings.

If you are having trouble hitting the low Eb key by mistake, put tape on the right hand e key and you will always know which is which!!

The fingerings for the contrabass clarinet differ , if it is the straight model , then it only goes to low e-flat , but if it is the curved model , then it usually goes down to low c (note 4 leger lines below the staff) . E-mail me if you use the curved model .

to play the high notes, it is easier if you start with a really low reed, and don't think that the high notes are that high, cause you are only in the bottom half of the Bb Bass Clarinet's range. Oh, and if you have a curved style contra, it will go down to a D
