 i was just playing my soprano sax, and i noticed something, my g# key does nothing, doesn't move anything.  is this sopposed to happen? and does anyone know of another way to play g#?

 could be a few things wrong. one: the pad is stuck. two: the spring is bad or missing. or three: the rod that opens the key is bent or jammed. look all over the G# key and see if any of those could be the problem. a sticky g# key is extremely common on all saxophones. also, I don't know of any other way to play g# other than by using that key.

 Time to take the horn into a technician for repair unless it is just a sticky pad.

 Try to put a piece of paper between the g# probably would fix it! My soprano jammes often at g#
